Heart of WA
Winter Drive
PNB is hosting our third annual Heart of Washington winter drive in partnership with WashMasks. We invite you to participate in our efforts to support and thank the farm workers who feed us!

We are collecting donations throughout the run of Nutcracker, from now until December 28.  There are donation boxes at the Phelps Center, the FRC, and backstage at McCaw Hall. Nutcracker student casts will also be making thank you notes to be delivered throughout the winter and spring.

Sensory-Friendly Nutcracker
PNB is proud to present an inclusive, sensory-friendly performance of The Nutcracker on December 20 at 2PM. This performance features a supportive and welcoming environment so children and adults affected by autism or with other sensory needs can enjoy the shared experience of live ballet with their friends and family. Modified lighting and sound levels, fidgets, entry/exit privileges, trained staff, allowance of devices, and a quiet room will be offered at this matinee.

Thanks to our partners at Sensory Access for their help planning the event!

PNB Dancers in the News
PNB Principal dancer Jonathan Batista has been interviewed by many news outlets this fall, but our favorite might be this KUOW feature by Diana Opong, which ran nationally on All Things Considered. Congratulations, Jonathan! Read or listen here.

Newly promoted PNB Soloists Amanda Morgan and Christopher D'Ariano were recently interviewed Converge Media's The Day With Trae - click here to watch. Amanda was also interviewed for Rewind with Besa - watch here. To get all their coverage, you can subscribe to the Converge Media YouTube channel.

PNB's Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (I.D.E.A.) Committee is looking for
at-large members!

The I.D.E.A. Committee is encouraging "at-large" membership in an effort to include and make use of the many valuable perspectives, life experiences and skill sets of our larger PNB community.

Some examples of ways that "at-large" members could participate include:

•  Bringing ideas to the I.D.E.A. Committee for any of the subcommittees to work on.
•  Offering to help with specific committee needs (ie. language translation, event planning).
•  Supporting specific events (ie. extra hands on deck for Community Engagement events).
•  Participating in the I.D.E.A. Committee’s monthly media club activities (ie. book club readings and discussions).
•  Volunteering as a facilitator for I.D.E.A. Committee’s trainings of PNB staff.
•  Submitting stories, events, and resources that could be shared in the monthly I.D.E.A. newsletters

Contact I.D.E.A. Committee co-leads Naomi Glass (she/her) at nglass@pnb.org or Kiyon Ross (he/his) at kross@pnb.org for more information!
