Audio Dance Description |
PNB is now offering audio-described performances! This season, we’ll include Audio Dance Description to three Reps (All Balanchine, The Sleeping Beauty, and Roméo et Juliette) and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker! Our audio-description program launches on November 2, 2024 with a screening of the film Telephone, a film “exploring the creative possibilities of audio description for dance,” followed by an audio-described performance of ALL BALANCHINE. LEAD Conference |
PNB Faculty member Deborah Kenner presented at the Kennedy Center's Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability (LEAD) Conference this August! Deborah led participants in movement excersises from the Dance for All curriculum and Dance for PD with Josh Zimmerman accompanying. Deborah shares, "It was exciting to build a small community through dance in a short time. I was told by several participants and the LEAD moderators in the room that this was the best session of the week!" |

The start of fall begins a new season at PNB! This year, PNB will provide many ways to experience dance, from our new audio-described performances to our Dance for PD classes. Indigenous Peoples’ Day |
Celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day with a performance by The Sleeping Beauty scenic designer Preston Singletary and his band Khu.éex’on Monday, Oct. 14. Khu.éex’ explores jazz, funk, and rock with an improvisational style and spoken word in English, Tlingit, Haida and Y’upic languages. Stop by for a free show at Westlake Park from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM! |

Hispanic Heritage Month |
This year, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, members of PNB's I.D.E.A. committee created a podcast version of a panel discussion from our 2023 Open House, Baila Conmigo, with transcripts in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
